Wayne Rooney rested for Wednesday’s Champions League clash in Rome

Wayne Rooney can just feel happy for his teammates on the pitch, as Manchester United’s young boys defeated Hull City 1-0 on Sunday.

Rooney didn’t play for the Red Devils; on the opposite, he was asked to place himself in the stands. It’s certainly a tactical demand from Sir Alex Ferguson there, and as a result, everyone knows how strong Fergie wants his attack to be in Wednesday’s Champions League final against Barcelona FC.

Unquestionably, Rooney is hoping to take every chance he gets at the Stadio Olimpico, as he is aware that the Barcelona defense will be weakened by the elimination of defenders Abidal and Alves.
Rooney has never had the feeling of scoring against the Catalans; however, he could have it this time around.

Well, at least, this is one of the main reasons why his manager decided to rest him at the weekend. Now, fans can wonder how effective Ferguson’s decision will be.

In the meantime, Rooney must only hope that he will be able to help his side repeat the great moment they had when they humbled Barcelona last year.
