Wayne Rooney's Goal Drought Ended
After waiting for 3 months, Wayne Rooney was finally able to end his goal drought with ManUtd, by a penalty to Glasgow Rangers on Champions League match few days ago. The one an only goal for ManUtd has created in just 3 minutes before the match ended, with an emotionally celebration from Rooney.
This season, Rooney only made 2 goals for ManUtd. And after his injury recently, his last goal became more important, not only to promote his comeback scene, but also to gain supporters trust on him.
It’s not a secret that Rooney’s goal statistic this year is below average, especially with his personal and internal problems. Compare to last season, where he became one of the scariest predator in the football world, and created 34 goals from 44 matches with ManUtd.
“I’ve been waiting for this opportunity. I’m confidence that I’m able to score again, therefore, when the goal happens, I really enjoy it,” stated Rooney to The Guardian.
His teammates, Rio Ferdinand is so sure that the goal has bring back Rooney’s confidence. And not just Ferdinand, all his team-mates were enthusiast with his comeback.
Rooney next task is to defeat Blackburn Rovers at Old Trafford this weekend, and hopefully score another goal. The victory over Rovers will lead them to the top Premier League standings. Will he be able to fulfill the job ??
