Manchester United appeared superior to Arsenal in the third week of Premier League. Wayne Rooney made a hat-trick, (2 free-kick and 1 penalty)completing the 8-2 victory at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils played dominant since the beginning of the game and by the halftime, they already recorded 3-1 winning points. The 3 goals scored by Danny Welbeck, Ashley Young and Rooney. While Theo Walcott scored the first goal for Arsenal.
On the second half, ManUtd added 4 goals through Rooney (2 goals),Nani, Ji Sung, and Young. Although sounded hopeless, Arsenal created their second, thanks to Robin van Persie.
The Gunners had to end the match with 10 men after Carl Jenkinson received a red card.
With this result, Manchester United lead the standings with a perfect score from 3 matches, while Arsenal slumped at number 17 with 1 point.
