Wayne Rooney’s sharp collaboration with Danny Welbeck in Premier League had interest Fabio Capello on planning the next England squad against Montenegro.
His decision to play Rooney along with Welbeck is considered a great choice, since both players didn’t need more time to adjust, as they already showed a fantastic collaboration in Manchester United’s matches.
Both also become the goal machine for the club. In Premier league, Rooney already collects 9 goals in 6 matches, while Welbeck 3 goals in 5 matches. Welbeck also recorded 2 goas in Champions League match last month, against FC Basel.
Fabio Cappelo praised Welbeck for the goals he made, especially in the Champions League competition, which became one of the reason he puts Welbeck’s name on the squad.
“A goal is very important in a match. It becomes a priority in choosing the squad. Welbeck succeeded in scoring 2 goals in Champions League, which was fantastic,”said Capello.
For Welbeck, the match against Montenegro will be his first official match with The Three Lions. He chose to joined England team despite both of his parents are from Ghana. However, Welbeck has the right to set his feet on England since he was born in Longsight, England.
