Is Wayne Rooney to Blame in Montenegro's Blunder ?

wayne rooneyWayne Rooney became the actor behind England’s 2-2 draw over Montenegro last weekend.

His untollerate action on kicking Miodrag Dzudovoic,  have forced The Three Lions to lose 2 points at Stadium Podgrorica City.

England team already ensure their ticket to the Poland-Ukraina final, and now stands in the top Group stage match with 18 points. However, all the success has been smudged by Rooney’s action.

Against Montenegro, England led with 2-1 in the first round. In second half, they still appear stable, until Rooney started the incident, kicking Miodrag in minute 74th.  His action has caused him a red card, and the team had to play with 10 men the rest of the time.

The situation was cleverly used by the opponent, as Montenegro managed to equalize  the point in injury time.

After the match, Capello mentioned his disappointment on Rooney’s behaviour.

“Rooney made a silly mistakes, kicking his opponent.  And now we have to lose him in Euro 2012 early match.”

Capello also asked the other players to learn from this incident, and that a small mistake could change the whole match.

However for Branko Brnovic, Montenegro coach, he blamed Capello for insisting to play Rooney despite he was facing a serious family problem. Brnovic suggested that any player with Rooney’s condition  will be having a hard time to concentrate, which can trigger such behaviour.

For information, Rooney’s father has been arrested last week, since he was accused on taking part in a football betting scam.

“In my opinion, Rooney should not be blamed. It was a serious problem for him, so probably that’s why he did the incident,” explained Brnovic.
