Thanks to his superb contribution to Manchester United’s 3-2 win against AC Milan in the Champions League at the San Siro, Wayne Rooney’s season tally has now reached 25 in terms of goals scored.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson thus believes that his English striker can go all the way to score more than 30 goals in all competitions for Manchester United this season. Speaking to the press, this is what Ferguson said on Wayne Rooney:
“He could break 30,” declared Fergie.
“This season in particular, especially over the last two months, there has been a marked improvement in his game.
“His overall performance was absolutely devastating. Milan couldn’t handle him (Wayne Rooney)… they just couldn’t handle him.
“He has to be regarded at the highest level (in football), along with all the other players we know about.”
Wayne Rooney is also the top scorer in the English Premier League with 21 goals in his name at the moment.
