Wayne Rooney against ArsenalThanks to a 3-1 victory away to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, Manchester United have now reduced the gap at the top of the Premier League table to a single point, behind Chelsea.

Wayne Rooney and Ji-Sung Park both got goals for the Red Devils; but surprisingly, it was not a United player who was first to register his name on the scoring sheet.

The game began in rapid form, just like any other big clash, and with bothttp://waynerooneyonline.com/wp-admin/post.php?action=edit&post=739&message=1h managers (Arsene Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson) concentrated on nothing but a positive result, the mental battle was at its highest level.

Arsenal’s wish of humbling the title holders to get closer to their dream of winning the title became a doubt in the 33rd minute, when the skillful Nani fooled the Gunners’ defense before making a nice cross which was palmed in by Arsenal keeper Manuel Almunia.

The keeper knew his mistake was extremely costly, as scoring an own goal for Manchester United is always a huge nightmare.

In the 37th minute, United were already 2-0 up.. Nani again showed his worth by squaring the ball for Wayne Rooney from a counter, and the English expert faultlessly made a low shot to claim his 22nd goal of the season, and reach 100 goals for Manchester United in the Premier League.

On 52 minutes, a magnificent attack from the Red Devils got Ji-Sung Park, who placed the ball onto Fletcher, before finding it back to make a cool finish.

The game was all over for Arsenal, and the home fans at the Emirates knew that, no matter what, getting the 3 points wasn’t possible anymore.

The Gunners somehow got a consolation 11 minutes from time through Thomas Vermaelen, but, this wasn’t enough to make the “impossible”.

In the end, the final score line remained Arsenal 1-3 Manchester United, with Manchester United and Wayne Rooney both making history.
