England vs Egypt: Wayne Rooney To Miss International Friendly?

49 views 3 March 2010

Wayne Rooney - EnglandManchester United playmaker and forward Wayne Rooney is likely to miss England’s international friendly match against Egypt tonight at the Wembley Stadium.

England will be playing the defending African champions as a preparation for the 2010 World Cup tournament in South Africa in June this year, but a minor knee injury received during the English Carling Cup final match between Manchester United and Aston Villa could rule out Wayne Rooney.

Rooney is however hoping for the best, and speaking to the press about the pressure around him ahead of this match, he said:

“I don’t feel any pressure or burden… really.

“To be honest, I have probably had pressure since I was 16, so it is something you get used to, and deal with in your own way.”

Wayne Rooney scored the winning goal for Manchester United against Aston Villa in the Carling Cup final at the Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
