Rooney scores twice as England crush Kazakhstan 5 – 1
0 views 13 October 2008Another appearance and another good day for Wayne Rooney; the striker is undoubtedly back and has reached top form.
England hosted Kazakhstan at the Wembley stadium for their Group 6 qualifiers game.
The Three Lions failed to convert their dominance into goals in the first period. However, in the second half, it was a completely different story.
Rooney pressured the Kazakhstan defender who scored an own goal out of a Lampard free kick.
The 22-year-old then had his name on the scoring sheet when he headed the ball home later on. And there was still time for him to squeeze in another ball past the goalkeeper to complete his double.
England play Belarus this week.
