Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, finally admitted that Wayne Rooney had a chance of passing the record of Cristiano Ronaldo’s 42 goals.
The only problem left for him is to keep an eye on the players that will give an assist to him .
Rooney scored a total of 32 packed in all competitions when scored twice as Manchester United 3-0 Fulham bow at Old Trafford last Sunday.
Rooney’s sharpness makes Ferguson believes that ‘impossible’ is possible. “Some time ago I said it would not be possible,” said United’s manager. “But he has scored 32 goals, so what can I say? This is a challenge for him.”
“Rooney can score goals in eight league matches and maybe five games in Europe. So, with 13 parties, you never know how much he can. Although I was already pleased by him only scored 30 goals,” added Fergie.
A total of 32 goals so far makes Rooney’s record average of 0.86 goals per match. With a minimum of 10 games until the end of the season (eighth in the Premier League in England and two quarter-finals of the Champions League) it means that Rooney has to score one goal each game to match Cristiano Ronaldo 42 goals record made 2 seasons ago.
