Wayne Rooney played major parts of the game but Sir Alex decided to replace him with Nani after playing 102 minutes. The Mirror gave Rooney a 7 in rating, saying:

“Produced his customary superhuman work-rate and belligerence on the ball, which gives United such a cutting edge.”

Fergie: We won't rely on Rooney and Ronaldo

Many have pointed Ronaldo and Rooney as the key men in United’s lineup. But Sir Alex Ferguson has warned his team no to rely on just Ronaldo and Rooney in the tonights Champions league final against Chelsea.

“They are young and I suppose a lot of their big future is ahead of them,” he said.

“In terms of their ability, their nerve and ability to play there are few better.

“But we can’t look to depend on two young lads as our saviours, I will be relying on all 11 players to see us through.”
