Rooney scores in United’s 2 – 1 win over Newcastle.

On Wednesday, Manchester United traveled to St James’ Park to face Newcastle in a game where a win would have taken them seven points ahead of Chelsea.
There were major changes in Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad as his line-up announced the return of several regular players missing from Sunday’s action in the Carling Cup Final.

Park and Carrick had their share in the match but it was Rooney and Berbatov who emerged as the saviors of the night.
