Wayne Rooney Finally Admits the “Boxing Day” Sanction

rooneyWayne Rooney finally admitted that his absence at the Boxing Day match was due to a sanction. Despite the sanction, Rooney insisted that he didn’t deserves that kind of punishment.

For information, last December Rooney missed Manchester United’s 2-3 defeat against Blackburn. The rumor spread that he was under punishment for going out late to dinner, which later denied by him and coach Ferguson.

But now Rooney opened up the fact, and admitted that he was out late with Darron Gibson and Johnny Evans, that led the sanction. He considered that the punishment is unnecessary, despite accept it in the end.

Besides the sanction, Rooney also got fined with 1 week salary of £200,000, which added to his disappointment.

“Yes (I’m angry), but for one reason I can not express it in public,” said Rooney.

“I accept it. But I feel the tension when returned to the field (when Manchester United lost 0-3 over Newcastle United) and I believe I pointed that out,” he added.
